How Honest Abe began
Honest Abe Coins was founded by Thomas Strausbaugh, a local preacher with a passion for collectibles and bullion. For several years, the business bought and sold exclusively online, building an online presence around bullion and numismatics. Along the way, that community grew to nearly 30,000 followers online, and customers have left almost 5,000 five-star reviews.
Why we opened in Yuma
In 2025, we opened a brick-and-mortar store in Yuma to bring that experience into the community. We wanted to offer a needed service: a place people could trust to buy and sell bullion and collectible coins, with personal, face-to-face service.
For us, a local storefront means more than a place to do business. It is an opportunity to build relationships with the people we serve and put our commitment to transparent transactions and fair deals into practice.
Rooted in the community
Thomas serves as president of the Yuma Coin Club, an Arizona nonprofit, and is an active voice in the community. His interest in coins and collectibles carries through both his community involvement and the work we do at Honest Abe Coins.
